Today Emily had to read a few three-letter words as she arrived at school. She knew all of them and received this for a reward.

Emily Playing Our Wii
I just love watching both of my girls play our Wii. Emily is getting very good at it and can even work her way through picking games on her own.

Callie's Second Birthday
Where do you go for a two-year old birthday party? Chuck E. Cheese of course! Callie loves going there and she is getting old enough now that she can play more of the games. It is still hard to believe that she is already two! Here are a few pictures from her party.
Anniversary Date Night
Last Friday night we dropped the girls off and mom and dad's so we could go shopping for Callie's birthday and celebrate our seven-year anniversary. After finishing our shopping for Callie, we went to Pelicans to enjoy some really good seafood. The finish our night, we decided to go see the movie Avatar. Everything was going great until about ten minutes from the end of the movie. All of the power for the entire theatre shut off because a car ran into a transformer in the surrounding area. Talk about disappointment! All of us had sat through over two hours of previews and the movie to be told we could come back later and re-watch it.
As we were leaving, Theresa reminded me that something similar happened to us while we were celebrating our first anniversary. We were living in New Mexico at the time and had rented a cabin for the weekend in Ruidoso, NM. One of the nights we were there, we went to a little movie theatre and several times during our movie it would just stop. The funny part was, they were start showing slides of nature scenes almost like somebody's homemade slideshow. We eventually got to watch the movie after several stops and starts with a slideshow in between.
That was an anniversary celebration we won't forget and neither was this years. What is it about us and movie problems on our anniversary?
